Upgrading your DF-560 or DF-390
|

Digi-Frame software upgrades are a largely automated process. However, the exact steps you need to take will depend on which software is currently installed on your Digi-Frame.
STEP 1: Determine your Digi-Frame's current software version.
Turn on your Digi-Frame. When the white "Welcome to Digi-Frame" screen appears, the software version is shown at the bottom center of the picture.
STEP 2: If necessary, update your Digi-Frame's startup software.
If you currently have software version 1.xx (xx = any numbers or letters) on your Digi-Frame, you will need to update the startup software before proceeding with the instructions below. This step requires a CompactFlash card - you cannot use a SmartMedia card. Please follow these steps:

If your current software version is 1.00v, you must return your Digi-Frame to us for a free memory upgrade. Please email techsupport@digi-frame.com to arrange this.

If your current software version is 1.00z, 1.01a or 1.01b, you must FIRST download and install version 1.03m. Please follow the instructions included in the README.TXT within this download file.

Once you have checked the above condition, download BOOTCODE.ZIP, extract its contents, and use Digi-Link or other means to copy these contents onto a CompactFlash card. Switch off your Digi-Frame, insert this CompactFlash card, and switch your Digi-Frame back on. The upgrade will install automatically. DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE POWER or press any buttons until the upgrade process is complete.

Note that you will not see any change in version numbers or other behavior when you next switch on your Digi-Frame. This is normal. In this step you have only upgraded the startup software.

STEP 3: Download and install operating system 2.50.
You may use either a CompactFlash or SmartMedia card for this step.

Download the upgrade file, extract its contents, and use Digi-Link or other means to copy these contents onto a CompactFlash card. Switch off your Digi-Frame, insert this CompactFlash card, and switch your Digi-Frame back on. The upgrade process will begin.

If prompted, click the menu wheel in order to confirm installing the upgrade.
